Kristin Smith, the long-standing CEO of the Blockchain Association, is set to join the Solana Policy Institute as its new president. This move comes after her six-year tenure at the Blockchain Association.

Leadership Transition

The Blockchain Association announced on April 1st that Smith will step down from her CEO position on May 16th. Subsequently, she will assume her new role at the Solana Policy Institute on May 19th. The reasons behind this transition remain undisclosed, and the association has yet to name Smith's successor. CoinTelegraph reports that they have reached out to the Blockchain Association for further comments but have not received a response.

Smith's Background and New Role

Smith has been a pivotal figure in advocating for digital asset policies since joining the Blockchain Association in 2018. Before that, she served as the deputy chief of staff for Montana State Representative Denny Rehberg. Interestingly, Miller Whitehouse-Levine, the former CEO of the DeFi Education Fund, also recently joined the Solana Policy Institute. Whitehouse-Levine will focus on educating US policymakers about Solana.
